Andrew Gould, top international dressage rider and trainer, has become a highly sought after instructor for many riders across different disciplines, at all levels. When Andrew is not busy riding and competing his own string of horses he is regularly travelling the country teaching and helping others. One yard that has become a regular teaching venue for Andrew is Littleton Manor Equestrian in Reigate, Surrey.

On a cold and damp February afternoon I caught up with Andrew at one of his clinics to discuss Littleton Manor and meet some of his clients.

“I travel to a lot of yards and Littleton Manor is certainly one of the best with its perfect facilities”, said Andrew. “The 20m x 60m dressage arena is superb; with mirrors, floodlights, high perimeter fence, a well draining level surface, all makes for an ideal arena to teach in”. He also pointed out the arena is good for viewing. “At Littleton I often see and welcome riders and friends to watch each other, I like to encourage questions and discussions amongst riders as well as their instructors”.

One of his clients is dressage rider and instructor Madeleine Herridge riding High Hoes Dio (Dio). Madeleine is a regular visitor to Littleton saying “it is the best place in the area with facilities to die for. I come here frequently to hire the schools and to teach my own clients as well as have lessons with Andrew. The staff and liveries at Littleton are always friendly and helpful and we are always made to feel welcome.”

Another one of his younger clients is India Hewitt aged 12 riding Nigel. “Andrew has been teaching me for approx 6 months” says India. “I really enjoy my lessons, I like the way he explains complex dressage techniques in simple terms and helps me to solve one issue at a time before moving on to the next.” India is stabled at Littleton and also commented “I love it here at Littleton, as all the facilities I could ever want are here on site. As well as the 20m x 60m dressage arena there is a 50m x 60m show jump arena, extensive cross country course, lunge arena and my favorite is the all weather gallop”.

Andrew Gould clinics are held monthly at Littleton, he offers private lessons for 30 or 45 minutes, and is happy to do semi-private lessons for 45 minutes where two people of a similar standard can share.
