Sad sale of 16.1hh, 12 year old, Anglo European Sports Horse gelding.Charlie Fox is the perfect all-round horse who is only for sale due to rider being at university and being wasted in the field.
Eventing: Charlie has competed for pony club eventing teams at area intermediate (BE100) and has completed pony club opens (BE Novice). His dressage currently needs work for this season due to not being schooled since last summer. Cross country he is an easy horse to ride, who takes fences in his stride and always brings back his rider smiling. Many videos are available of him schooling and competing out cross country.
Showjumping: Charlie is still in British novice however has winnings up to 1.05 and has jumped up to newcomers. With a rider who has the ability to keep him together, he shows a lot of scope. However, at smaller heights he is a very very easy ride. Only last week he was jumped by a mother who had not competed in 4 years and produced a lovely clear and was placed. Charlie has jumped on junior academy teams and has been the elected horse to jump off for the team winning a silver medal in 2014. Once again, he has been on pony club show jumping teams and has jumped the Dengie Novice championships.
Dressage: due to the riders lack of interest in dressage, Charlie hasn’t done too much in this area. However, he has been selected for the pony club area dressage team several times and always produces a good team score. With work this can only improve as he has the ability to produce a lovely test.
Hunting: Charlie has whipped in, been on point, and been a field master's horse for two seasons. He is also happy to be part of the field. He has also been part of the second place hunt relay team at the Peterborough festival of hunting - not much phases him.
Pony club: As mentioned above, Charlie has represented area teams in all disciplines. However, he has also taken part in the musical dressage ride at the Pony Club Championships as lead horse. He has done many senior camps and taken part in area 7 camp. He has even done mounted games at the pony club show.
Hacking: he is good to hack alone or in company. Hacking around the yard is a lot of town traffic and main roads which never bothers him. Opening gates and waiting for others is no issue.
He is brilliant to load, catch, shoe, lunge and handle in any way, although finds clipping stressful and can get upset. He can be turned out alone or with other mares and geldings.
Charlie would suit a strong/competent rider, a mother/son or mother/daughter share, to get the best out of him. 5* home required for horse that has been part of the family for the last 7 years.
