Where to see British Show Jumping

Live British Show Jumping events are truly exhilarating to watch. Every year, the events are held frequently in venues all over Britain.  The show jumping tournaments really do make great excursions as they cater for everyone, for example exciting school trips, birthday outings and family days-out.

There is plenty of information available to make planning a trip to British Show Jumping events really easy.

This year, British Show Jumping still has much to offer. The pre Horse Of The Year (HOYS) show - Pony Classic - is a British Show Jumping junior show which was hosted at Addington Manor Equestrian Centre, from 16th to 18th September. It was a fantastic opportunity to watch Britain’s future elite show jumpers in the making.

Mid September to early October saw The Bicton All Weather arena present the Affiliated British Show Jumping Senior, mixed and junior classes.

One of the most famous horse shows in the world, the spectacularly extravagant HOYS, was held at the NEC Birmingham, in October 2011. Reputed to be the most famous horse show in the world, the event was an opportunity to witness truly dazzling performances from masters of the equestrian discipline.

Ten British Show Jumpers were invited to compete in the world class Horse of the Year Show’s International Classes. The team of riders who automatically qualified, were chosen from British Show Jumping’s most well-respected, high-ranking show jumpers, and  hail from Nottinghamshire, Warwickshire, Kent, Essex, Surrey, West Yorkshire and Peebles in Scotland. The eagerly anticipated tournament also included the exceptional Leading Show Jumper of the Year Grand Prix.

The Rowallen Equestrian Centre in Fenwick Ayrshire hosted the two extra qualifiers for British riders to compete at the HOYS. They took place from 8th to11th September and then at Arena UK in Grantham Lincolnshire from 19th to 25th September.

The Aintree International Equestrian Centre will host Team Murka and World Class Programme U23 British Championships, which includes the Senior British Show Jumping Premiership Show and the British National Amateur and Veteran Championships 2011. For a warmly majestic winter treat for all friends and family, The Olympia in Earls Court London, will play host to the London International Horse Show from 3 to 19th December 2011. The show jumping class will feature British and international riders.
