Wearing boots for horse riding is essential. Riding a horse can be dangerous and horse riding boots provide support and control. This article will give you a few top tips about boots for horse riding.
Why Wear Boots for Horse Riding?• Tall English riding boots provide good leg support.
• Boots protect the calf from painful stirrup leather rubs.
• Riding boots enable the rider to push weight down into their heels.
• Tall riding boots look elegant in the show ring.
Top Comfort Tips• If you have brand new tall riding boots wear heel lifts with them for a couple of weeks so the leather has time to soften and drop; this will prevent rubbing to the backs of your knees. To insert the wedge simply put it down at the back of the sole of the riding boot rubber side down.
• Wear thin and slippery riding boot socks; they will make the boots more comfortable and easier to get on.
• If you have new boots then wear them a couple of times around the house before you ride with them on.
• Keep your rides short when you first wear your new boots.
