When you buy horses from a trader you will find they know a lot about horses and riders. You will have their advice on horses, they will be able to steer you away from horses that are inappropriate for you and show you types more suitable. Trade sales work on the basis of reputation, if you buy a horse for sale that is not right for you then word will soon get around as to where you bought it.

On the whole trade sales are more suited to riders who want to advance their careers. If you want to buy horses for the first time then you might find a private sale is more suitable for you.
