We found Shona in the summer of 2008 advertised on horsemart. We were looking for a hardy native british breed around 13hh and there was Shona Shona is an Eriskay Pony (rare scottish breed) and she is 13.1hh

Shona is classically Eriskay, having been born bay and having turned to grey with maturity. She has a woolly forelock and a dense waterproof coat. She enjoys company and is a super all round family pony. More info at www.eriskayponies.webs.com

Shona is special because there are fewer than 300 Eriskay broodmares left in the world and she is one of them. The Eriskay Pony Society is working closely with the rare breed survival trust to promote and protect this ancient British breed.

Shona loves people and variety. We bought her when she was green and are thrilled with the way she is coming on. She is enjoying flatwork, jumping, picnic rides, going to shows and taking part in heritage working pony and rare breed events.
