Reluctant sale of our gorgeous 5 year old piebald cob gelding, Seamus. He was professionally broken as a 3 year old and has been schooled to a professional standard over the last 18 months. He is in super condition and has developed beautifully, and is now ready to go on.Even, collected and balanced paces. Responsive to the voice (will stop at the canter from the voice). He yields to both leg and hand, flexes on both reins, and is supple on both reins. Will break into a canter from the walk if asked. Has been schooled to jump, happy in an outdoor school or indoor school.
Seamus is not in the slightest bit strong, very light in the mouth. Performs well with a rubber Pelham, but equally fine in a Happy Mouth. Does not get fizzy or excited, even in fields or open spaces, will work with or depart from other horses without an issue, and stand quietly if another horse departs, when required.
Excels off road, is super on bridlepaths, in fields, woods - will traverse banks, ditches, and will jump logs etc, very sure footed.
Happily hacks in company, and hacks alone although more green on his own, as befits his age.
Some basic Parelli work with him means he has excellent stable manners and is easy to handle on the ground. Seamus is a wonderful cheeky character with a sense of humour that makes us laugh, he is great fellow to have on the yard. No vices.
Would do very well in coloured cob/coloured horse/show cob classes as he is a lovely specimen, or would enjoy hunting, fun and sponsored rides, or other disciplines - ready to go on in whatever field. Bought
from the same yard as the HOYS 2015 Cob of the Year, and the owner of the yard commented that he was of the same stamp of cob.
Would suit a confident novice or experienced rider, not so suited to a complete novice as he is a young horse and more green hacking on his own, nothing nasty just needs a confident rider to allow him to grow in confidence on his own as he matures.
Excellent to shoe / teeth. Travels in a trailer or horsebox fine.
Sale through no fault of his own. He is a genuine lovely boy, a very happy horse without a bad bone in his body.
Homes will be vetted.
