***FOR SALE ONLY***
15.3hh 13 yrs, bright bay gelding.
Racing name: Mujood (was in training with Eve Johnson-Houghton).
Juice came out of racing in 2011 as an 8yo after a very successful career (not due to injury, he'd simply had enough), and has been in the same home ever since. He has been retrained by a teenager to be a true all rounder.
So far he's done:
2 x Pony Club camps
Lots of PC rallies
Team Quest competitions, scoring up to 69% at Prelim
Cross country schooling
Pairs hunter trials
Hacking alone and in company (including up the gallops!)
Fancy dress dressage competitions!
And lots and lots of schooling outings to various venues...
He is happy to live out through the summer but might get a bit of mud fever in the winter if not kept on top of/brought in regularly.
Happy jumping 90cm - 100cm courses but has easily popped over 1.20m at home. Easy to ride on the flat and produces a very smart dressage test. Good trainable brain and learns new things fast.
Juice is generally good to have around but can be grumpy if poked and prodded too much or if he doesn't have enough turnout, so no children, novices or people with no turnout need apply. He has never been sick or sorry (only one case of lameness in 5 years due to an abscess) and is good with the farrier and to load in a horse box and trailer. I would suggest sedating him to clip as he does get stressed about it (although I've managed without). Juice is good to turn out with other horses but happy in a field on his own as long as there is another horse in the vicinity.
He is up to date with vaccinations, worming and teeth. Open to any vetting. Regularly seen by physiotherapist and chiropractor for routine maintenance without any issues coming up. I'm sure that both these professionals would happily talk to a prospective buyer about Juice if asked.
Juice is an ex racehorse, so although he is perfectly manageable by an amateur, he will spook - he is not a robot! He will also become stressed if bullied either from the floor or when riding. Having said all this, he has never reared or bucked and has always been in a snaffle for all disciplines.
We are very keen for him to go to the right home, so any prospective buyers will be thoroughly vetted. I would also advise a 2 week trial period, but he would have to stay AT HIS CURRENT YARD in Wantage, Oxfordshire. Absolutely no negotiation on this point.
He has a saddle and full wardrobe available by separate negotiation.
We are flexible on price as long as it is to a good home.
£1,750 ono - £500 of this will be donated to RoR.
