my shetland stallion is with the 2 foals and my mare as she always does teases him something rotten because she the only mare i got and therefore on her own and the stallion is starting to be nasty toward the foals, even if the boys come within  10ft of the fence he goes for them. also in the stable there is a sheeted gate between the mare and shetland and one of the foals but he still goes for him even though  he can't see her.

should i split them up or let them sort it out themselves, i have never had a problem with him before i got the colts because he was with his sons and i have other mares with her however she didn't get on with them.

what should i do??:)

thankx

if it was me and i was able to then i'd split them up. sounds like the stallion is telling them to stay clear of 'his girl'. if they keep trying to say hello to her then he could hurt them. i know in the wild they would sort themselves out but normally it would mean one of them getting injured.
