Would love to be lack of transport and both horse & rider being a wimp might chicken out

You never know I might become brave by then!

There are some great beaches to ride on around wells, Holkham & Holme are beautiful

Not many of us... That's because they don't have electricity in Norfolk yet :-)

I'm over Downham Market way.  And as this is a Norfolk thread can anyone tell me if you can go riding on the beach along the North Norfolk Cost (ideally Brancaster / Wells / Cley areas)?

oi Little R - Nothing wrong with Norfolk :P

Holkham & Holme are both good beaches. I went to Holme many years ago. It has a great beech for horses and it is shallow really far out

Great this time of year as no sunbathers to dodge :hehe:

To ride on holkham beach you have to park on ladie annes drive at holkham. I think you have to pay £10.00 to park for horseboxes/trailors in teh peak season but nothing off peak.

This is where the cavelry always bring there horses for there summer hols and gallops.

BUT< if you do go to holkham to ride go with someone who knows the beach. The tides are very dangerous and have caused a few deaths.

I had to call the coastguards twoce last year when riders went out to far and didnt realise tide comes in around them. Riders came back in a boat horse had to swim back

But if you stay close to the pinewoods on your way up and then close to the sand dunes on your way back you will have a lovely stretch to ride on

All beaches on that coast are georgous but the tides are verydangerous so PLEASE be careful
