i am feeling extremely guilty as i am thinking about selling my horse, he was meant to be "Easy to do" but has turned out to be a bit of a handful (nothing nasty just general young horse/cobs kevins!) he is now doing better but after my last fall i feel i no longer have the confidence to bring on a youngster anymore, i do love him and i know i could get there someday, but as i am a student who is hoping to move out/get own car etc i know i only have a few years of horse ownership left, and i want to be able to enjoy them and just be able to go out and do things i have dreamed of such as the beach, riding club, pleasure rides maybe some local shows
do you think it would be fair for me to sell him? as i would worry he would get passed around? he is nothing a confident experienced person couldn't make into a star, i just feel im not the right owner for him (he has welsh in him and needs a bit of bossing sometimes!)
he is a 5 1/2 year old cob (not sure on ratio just got told has welsh in him!) ive hacked him alone and in company and he is ok but needs a confident rider, better in company, ive just started to get lessons on him so really only starting proper schooling but he can w/t/c easily just working on responsiveness, working properly etc now, his main love is jumping, and having seen him jump a 7 bar gate i can say he has quite a pop in him although i have never desired to jump high! he needs a confident experienced rider as he is young and although he is quite quiet in the school he will occasionally take the pee if he thinks he can get away with it - do you think he would said in this market or am i just living in dream world thinking i could sell him and get something i could do my dreams with?
