Back in February I posted for help as my new mare (first horse) wasnt behaving herself at my working livery yard despite being sold as a "perfect horse for a riding school" - several people gave me some good advice so I thought I'd give an update.
Had to move her from the riding school as she was obviously not happy and couldnt be used. Very luckily managed to find a place 5 mins away from my house - a lovely quiet yard, only 3 horses and definately 5* accommodation. 3 weeks of being turned out and settling in to her new home have worked wonders; she is so much calmer and happier, has lovely stable manners and happy to be led in and out of the field either by herself or with her new best friend "Minnie". Today in her field as I was "poo picking" she wandered up to me had a bit of a fuss then wandered off - our first "moment"
Had her back checked and she is fine - saddler comes on Saturday to fit her lovely new saddle and we'll start some light hacking work. Fingers crossed she has turned a new corner and we can look forward to a long happy life together.
Thanks to all who posted advice
