Am i too old to start learning? I dont want to be the oldest one in a class of 8 yr olds lol or is this a misconception? Thanks!!!

The good thing about horse riding is you are always learning regardless of what age you start or what age you are now. Learning is fun, go out and enjoy ....... :D

Your never to old to learn, many riding centres have adult classes. My friend is just starting to learn at 40 so I'm sure you'l not be the oldest one there.

I was 48 when I had my first leasson...no you're never too old, but I would have some private lessons first, possibly onthe lunge, it will help with your balance and position. Good luck it is scary as you get older but enjoyable and you have such a sense of achievment when you have done something new.

It's never too late to learn!

I'm currently in a beginners' class as I am recovering from a major operation and my class is made up almost entirely of "mature" learners - one of which was given a course of lessons by her husband as a 60th birthday present! She's always wanted to give it a go but never had. In fact, my mum had her first lesson at 56. One of the nice things, I think, is that the age range of learners does go from kiddies all the way through to "oldies" (can I say that? !).

So you would be one of the youngest members of our group! If you want to do it, go for it... and let us know how you get on :D.

Good luck!

Hiya!!
Just to let you all kno that i have had my first ever riding lesson!!! Sooo much fun!!! had a bit of trouble trying to co-ordinate myself and to keep closer to the fence, i tended to drift into the middle and do smaller circles but i suppose it will get easier with practice!! x x x

There is never an age that is too old to start horse riding, I didn't start when I was little.. although I did have some experience with horses. When it came to my first riding lesson I will a brick of nerves and every time you go you will feel yourself improve rapidly, Its amazing!
Good Luck with your future horse riding:D
