trotting problems

Postby siobhan.lythgoe on Sun Sep 11, 2011 1:04 am

hi everyone,

i have a welsh section a 3 year old mare who i aim to show but i am haveing problems getting her to trot forwards when inhand and when she dose she is very lazy and flat. i have tried carrying a whip to encourage her to go forward and i am in the process of long reining her were she seems to trot forward alot better but goes back to the same when not long reining. i have been to one show with her and i think we would of got 1st prize for walking :).

has anyone got any advice or any ideas that could help me to get her going froward in trot as she dose have lovely paces and i would love her to show them of in the ring.

Thank you :)

I would try loose schooling and lunging.
This was how I got my section D to trot inhand
