Organisers of the annual CIC** Brightling Park International Horse Trials in East Sussex are now on the final countdown to the popular event next month. The two-day event, which is sponsored by Reverdy Horsefeeds will be held on Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 July 2012. It regularly attracts around 400 entries from top competitors all over the world, including renowned Olympians Pippa Funnell and Sharon Hunt. Set in 450 acres, the historic 18th century Brightling Park estate offers visitors the chance to view the five unique follies and relish the far-reaching views that once inspired one of England’s most celebrated landscape painters, J.M.W. Turner. With more than 5,000 spectators expected to descend on the estate, there will also be numerous trade stands, a Pimm’s bar and terrier racing to keep everyone entertained. Whether you are a follower of top class horse trials, or you looking for a day out in rural Sussex, there is something for the whole family at Brightling Park International Horse Trials. Entry on the day is £15 per car with a concession for single occupancy. Children under 14 are free. Dogs are welcome, as long as they are kept on a lead. Gates open from 8.30am.
