Brownie is a 15.2hh 10 yo bay ISH gelding. He is very good to handle on the ground, easy to catch, fine to shoe, loads, likes a bath, my children help groom him, nice stable manners, lives happily with others, dogs on yard. I haven’t clipped him, so don’t know how he feels about this. Brownie has been eventing in his previous home, will school nicely and has a big careful jump.
I bought Brownie privately only a few months ago after a 20 year break from owning horses. I wanted to go out and do some low level eventing, local shows etc and have something that could also be a working livery at the riding school where he is kept. Importantly I wanted to hack alone, so that I could be independent.
Unfortunately, things haven’t turned out as I planned. I bought a horse that had experience, but also as it turns out something that needs considerably more entertainment that I have found myself able to give. Brownie is a competition horse and although I am not a novice rider I do not have experience with competition horses. I cannot hack Brownie alone. He is better in company and would probably improve with a confident rider. Traffic doesn’t bother him, I think I could ride him down the motorway, but a cat in an unexpected place could upset him. He needs a confident rider out hacking or a home where he is kept in work with schooling, x-c, sponsored rides, jumping etc. The majority of my riding would be hacking alone so Brownie and I really are not compatible. It is unfair of me to force him to be something he is not, he loves to event and jump. He would suit a competitive home with an experienced rider.
He has a clean Stage 5 vetting from May.
No loans but I have excellent trial facilities where you are welcome to come as many times as you like to try him.
Price is negotiable to the right home.
