Gunner came to HorseWorld in early 2013 after being rescued from neglect. He was extremely underweight, scouring and had untreated rain scald.Over the summer of 2014 Gunner came into work and was backed reasonably easily and began hacking out. Unfortunately he suffered with consistent lameness and strength issues and after investigations with the vet and chiropractor the sad decision was made that Gunner is not capable of ridden work.
Gunner is a very friendly horse and would make a fantastic companion. He loves attention and is easy to handle, he can be a little pushy but is improving as he gets older. He gets on well with his field companions and can be playful, however he was castrated late and is currently not suitable to live with mares.
Gunner has been fine to be left alone in the stables for short periods so may make a good companion to a ridden horse. He is a good doer and can be sensitive to grass so requires restricted grazing from spring to autumn.
