Lily came to HorseWorld in 2005 after her owner was unable to care for her. She has been backed as a child’s riding pony and has done ride and lead and is good in traffic, but it was decided that this wasn’t suitable for her as she was grumpy around the children. She may be suitable for use as an occasional lead rein for visiting grandchildren etc. but has not been ridden for some time now.
Lily does have sweet itch but it is easy to manage as she is good to be rugged and have treatments. She also has been diagnosed with PPID (Cushings) but is currently not on any medication for this. She is a hardy pony and can live out 24/7 or be stabled if needed, she is a good doer so does not need much supplementation but will require quite restricted grazing.
Lily can hold her own with other horses and can live in a mixed group, she can also be left alone for short periods without problem so would make a good companion to a ridden horse or pony. We have also used Lily on several occasions as a travelling companion for nervous horses due to her calm temperament so she may be suited as a travelling companion to a competition pony.
